Mercy Care for the Adirondacks is a mission sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy to provide elders, on a non-denominational basis, with companionship, friendship, and spiritual care. They work to enhance the fullness of the lives of elders by responding to their needs in a holistic manner through its Friendship Volunteer and Parish Nurse Programs. Mercy Care encourages each community to develop facilities, programs, policies, and practices that support a fullness of life of elders in the community. Through its educational forum program and other outreach activities, Mercy Care seeks to promote an understanding of issues and challenges in the lives of elders.
Cloudsplitter Foundation does not support an ongoing operational budget, however awarded Mercy Care $15,000 in 2015 to help with operational expenses. As of 2016, Mercy Care has been added to Cloudsplitter’s annual giving in the amount of $5,000, and was awarded a one-time grant of $10,000 to support the Elder Caregiving in the Adirondacks program.
