Daniel KieferBach to become Cloudsplitter Foundation Executive Director

The Cloudsplitter Foundation Board is pleased to announce that Daniel KieferBach will become its Executive Director on April 22nd.  Dan is currently the Community Development Coordinator with LivingADK where he developed grassroots community programs for towns in the Old Forge region.  Dan’s job has been to promote vibrant and sustainable communities along the Route 28 corridor within the towns of Forestport, Webb, Inlet, Long Lake and adjacent communities.  Dan is also a board member of AdkAction and has been active in many other initiatives throughout the Park.

Dan has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business and community psychology from SUNY and UMASS.  He and his wife Tayler live on Fourth Lake (in the Fulton Chain) and are expecting their first child this July. Dan will be based in the Old Forge area, making the southwest of the Park more visible to the Foundation’s philanthropy.

Lee Keet, Cloudsplitter board chair, said “Dan comes to us when we no longer simply respond to grant requests, we now self-initiate projects, provide bridge and matching financing to improve the success of larger grants, and partner with other not-for-profits and the state to multiply the impact on our region. Dan has the experience and local knowledge to continue this strategic evolution.”

The Cloudsplitter Foundation is a 37-year-old not-for-profit whose mission is to improve the environment, economies, and lives of the people of the Greater Adirondacks through innovative and leveraged philanthropic programs.  In 2024 the foundation will spend approximately $2 million to support that mission.  Over the past ten years the foundation has made grants of over $13 million, almost all to Adirondack not-for-profits.
